Dewey's Pizza was born from a single, simple belief: great pizza should bring people together. What started as a neighborhood dream became a Kirkwood institution.

When founder Dewey first opened the doors at 124 N Kirkwood Rd, the goal was straightforward — create a pizza that was more than just food. It was about crafting an experience, a gathering place, a reason to share a table with the people you love.

"We never set out to be the biggest pizza place in Missouri. We just wanted to be the one you'd drive across town for — and tell all your friends about."

Using locally sourced ingredients, hand-stretched dough made fresh every morning, and signature sauces developed over years of tasting and perfecting, Dewey's quickly earned a reputation that spread far beyond Kirkwood. Twenty years of growth, flavor, and community — here's how we got to where we are today.

2004

The First Slice

Dewey's Pizza opens its doors at 124 N Kirkwood Rd. The original menu features six signature pizzas, handmade dough, and a vision to create Kirkwood's favorite neighborhood spot.

2007

Award-Winning Recognition

Named "Best Pizza in St. Louis County" by local readers for the first time. The White Pie and BBQ Chicken pizzas become runaway fan favorites across the region.

2010

Kitchen Expansion

Demand for delivery and catering grows so fast we double the kitchen capacity. A new fleet of delivery vehicles hits the road, bringing Dewey's pies to homes across Kirkwood and beyond.

2015

Gluten-Free & Vegan Options Launch

Responding to our community, we introduce a dedicated gluten-free crust and a full vegan menu. Dewey's becomes the go-to for every dietary preference in the area.

2019

Full Dining Room Renovation

The restaurant undergoes a full interior redesign — warm lighting, reclaimed wood, and an open kitchen concept. The new space seats 80 guests and becomes a destination for date nights and family gatherings alike.

2024

Celebrating 20 Years

Dewey's Pizza celebrates two decades of community, craft, and incredible pizza. We launch our online ordering platform, introduce three new specialty pies, and look forward to the next chapter — serving you for another 20 years.

Founder & Head Pizzaiolo

The man behind the legend. Marcus trained in Naples before bringing his craft to Kirkwood. He still hand-stretches the first dough of every morning shift.

Sofia brings 15 years of culinary expertise to Dewey's kitchen. Her signature sauces and seasonal specials keep the menu fresh and our guests excited.
